Christmas Presents for the family 2011.
I experimented with acrylic paints on balsa wood. It was really fun, but the blasa wood was pretty frail and I don't know if I'd use it again. Each piece is specifically designed for the relevant people and is based on their characters and stories.
Remi, Jo, Jake - my attempt at representing a version of their family dynamic and characters.
Much to Jake's disappointment (the angel). Well it was meant to be ironic.
Michelle - who has mentioned her...interest....in finding a dead body.
Dad, who had his pancreas removed in 2011.
Mum, who makes amazing chicken soup. My kids favourite :-)
Oma - who gets around on her scooter.
Present for Karin.
It had fishing wire to hang it up. One side has a heart, the other a tear. I was sad to see her go but happy for her too.
Christmas Presents for the family.
These are hand sewn presents to hang from the rear vision mirror in the car or anything really - some of them ended up on the Christmas tree! I added ribbons to each one.
Bicycle
Made of junk found at the tip (including the broken glass).
Wire Mask
It's difficult to capture in a photo, but the mask is in two parts that join together on the head. On piece covers the skull and the other covers the face.
