Portrait of Justin.

Originally he tried to bully me into making him stencils of himself and his flat mate Bevan - two of my closest friends, but I ignored him and felt more inspired to try out a portrait. First time I've done one that's not myself or Jonathan. First one I've properly painted. Thought it could be cool to show the process.

Original sketch.

Transferring image onto primed wood.

Starting to fill it in.

What my space is looking like during the process.

Final Portrait

Well it's been an intense year with a 3 year old and 1 year old at home. I've only recently been able to get back into making art (yay! finally!). I've also managed to add lots of illustration work from years ago and also some more recent work. I'll be adding more as I go. It's so good to be feeling excited about art and creativity again.
Here's a few things that I've been adding but go to the relevant pages to see more :-)

Some crafty things.

These were done as Christmas presents for people in the family to hang on their rear vision mirrors in the car, or from anywhere really! I attached ribbons to all of them.

Cancer & Aquarius

These star signs were made as wedding gifts for two wonderful people (he's the cancerian, she's aquarius) who had an eccentric, fun and wonderful wedding. They are hand painted on wood and are about the size of large dinner plates. I made a border of mosaic around each one and there's a small flat hook on the back to hang them. Very detailed work and I loved making them. See more photos at different angles on the On Wood page.

Inez's Wall

I completed this mural a few weeks ago for friends of ours while they were away on holiday. The stripey cloud was painted, as were the trees. With the blue birds I discovered the wonders of collage and wallpaper glue. I really enjoyed making this mural and the fact that this family gave me total freedom to make whatever I wanted for their gorgeous 2 year old girl. They were very excited by how it turned out too!
